While the debate on weather cryptocurrencies should be a legal tender wages on furiously, several companies have taken a step forward. Here’s a list of companies that accept Bitcoin payments –


Microsoft is one of the big tech companies to fully support Bitcoin, unlike its rivals Apple and Google. It accepts the cryptocurrency as a payment to purchase its digital content – Xbox games, music, video stores, Window stores, etc. It can be used for gaming on Xbox as well. Bitcoin can be added as balance to Microsoft Account and make payments later. In fact, Microsoft is integrating BitPay to process transactions. Although, any money added through BTC cannot be refunded. And not all services can be bought with it, such as Office 365. However, Microsoft’s support of the virtual currency is a “pretty huge” thing for the future of blockchain.

A variety of household goods and digital devices can be bought on through Bitcoin. Over 4 million products, ranging from furniture to bedding to decor can bought. It’s an especially popular place to spend your BTC because of the easy payment method. Unlike other places, users here simply have to click on the “Pay with Bitcoin” option to proceed and complete payments. In fact, in 2017, it has planned to integrate with ShapeShift (one of the leading instant digital asset exchange of the world). It will expand payment of cryptocurrencies from BTC to Ethereum, Litecoin, Dash, Monero, etc. It will become one of the few companies to accept multiple virtual currencies as payment.


One of the world’s biggest travel agency, Expedia had started accepting Bitcoin since 2014. The pro-BTC nature of Expedia comes with a push from its new CEO, who wishes to expand the company’s presence in Europe and Asia. His vision with BTC as a payment is “to revolutionize travel through the power of technology” and adopt the “latest payment technologies”. Currently, Bitcoin is accepted only for hotel bookings. But it will soon start accepting Bitcoin for flight bookings, car services and other services provided by it. Coinbase wallet is used by Expedia to accept BTC transactions.

Virgin Galactic

Like Bitcoin, Virgin Galactic is a company looking into the future. It is a commercial space flight owned by Entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson (who also owns the famous Virgin Mobile and Virgin Airline). His integration of Virgin Galactic with Bitcoin is his pure belief in the virtual cryptocurrency. When he first invested in Bitcoin, he was fascinated with how a “new global currency” could change the world. He believes that although Bitcoin has a few issues of complete transparency and legal approval, the virtual currency is likely to be the future of currencies.


Zynga is an online gaming website, which started accepting cryptocurrency in 2014. Zynga also partnered with Bitpay to accept Bitcoin payments in the same year. In-app purchases can be made via Bitcoin on this website. Bitcoin can be used as a payment for virtual goods on games such as FarmVille 2, CastleVille, CityVille, ChefVille, etc. Its support for Bitcoin was a “test” to expand payment methods. But with Bitcoin’s immense success now, the company seeks to extend its Bitcoin-related activities.

One of the largest blogging website, allows its users to carry out transactions in BTC. Websites/blogs on have several Plug-in options for BTC payments. On wordpress, plug-ins are required by the website owners to integrate payment option of Bitcoin with their website. They can use cryptocurrency wallets of their choice – Coinbase, Airbitz, CoPay, etc. May Plug-in options such as Digital Paybox Plugin, Easy Digital Downloads, Woocommerce, etc are available. They have different features, prose and cons. Users can select accordingly. provides flexibility and independence for Bitcoin payments, which makes it a great supporter of the virtual currency.


Most of the companies that accept BTC are tech related. But on Subway, BTC can be spent even on everyday goods such as food and drinks.


PizzaForCoins is an interestingly innovative way to expand the reach of cryptocurrency in daily life activities. This place accepts BTC and 45 other cryptocurrencies to deliver Pizzas. It is associated with the joints – Pizza Hut, Dominos, Papa John’s, etc. Pizza from a nearby eatery can be delivered to the customers with only a small service fee!


Gyft is a platform to buy, send and redeem gift cards from any device. On Gyft, BTC can used to buy gift cards from over 200 retailers. Wonderfully, it does not charge any extra fee for it! It is a constant supporter of Bitcoin and one of the first places that started accepting BTC as payment.


Like Gyft, eGifter is used to buy gift cards. It is a popular gift card mobile app, where gift cards can be bought from big online retails such as Amazon, Sephora, Kohls, etc. For instance, gift cards bought on Gyft can be in form of Amazon gift card. This means BTC can be indirectly used to pay on Amazon via Gyft. It works with Coinbase as their Bitcoin partner.

Reeds Jewelers, Inc.

Surprisingly, BTC can be used to buy jewellery too. Reeds Jewellers is an American company that sells jewellery, watches and loose diamonds. It has 13 stores in America but a national online delivery system too.
